WHO WE ARE
Swati Gauri Sharma is the founder and producer of The Bollywood Observer. She is a life long Bollywood and Hindi television addict based in Boston.
Growing up watching Bollywood films, Swati realized Bollywood’s power and potential to influence social and political causes in India and around the world. She believes that Bollywood is more than just singing and dancing and melodramatic sequences.
Here is a sampling of some of her work:
“How Gandhi got his mojo back,” The Boston Globe, Oct. 13, 2006
“A musical bridge for India and Pakistan,” The New York Times Online, Aug. 7, 2007
Carluccio B. is a contributor for the blog. He was first smitten with Bollywood two decades ago when he rather innocently ventured onto the filming of a Bollywood film in Bombay.
